Job Position: Brewer

COMPANY BACKGROUND: 

Barrel Brothers Brewing Company is a production-scale craft brewery, distillery, and restaurant in the town of Windsor CA founded in 2015. Barrel Brothers is on a mission to recraft craft beer by using new production technologies and foster a culture of innovation. 2023 saw the production of over 10,000 bbls across nearly every category of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Production team member responsible for brew house wort production through finished packaging and every step in between.

  • Operate production equipment not limited to brewhouse, cellar equipment, alcohol removal equipment, distillation equipment, and packaging line equipment.

  • Sustain a clean, sanitary production environment.

  • Assist in all areas related to production of beer, spirits, RTD cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and other manufacturing based company projects.

  • Assist with the monitoring of yeast health, fermentation, cropping, and general yeast management. Assist in general QA analysis of batches in process.

  • Able to work in a team and autonomous environment with an eye for organization and problem solving.

  • Passionate to meet growing demands and perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements

  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds consistently, move 160 lb kegs intermittently.

  • Capable of working safely and competently and being aware of surroundings in an environment that has heavy machinery, equipment, chemicals, and systems.

  • Able to work in a noisy and high-traffic manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule on weekdays.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent driving record.

  • Ability to take on various levels of responsibility from complex to simple tasks with a great attitude.

  • Ability to take direction well and follow verbal and written SOP’s.

  • Interest and experience with the nuance of classic beer styles along with an interest in beyond beer categories, including RTDs spirits, and non-alc drinks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a beverage production environment.

  • Educational background including a math/science core preferred.

  • Experience using various production-focused ERP systems is a plus.

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical abilities are strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A thorough understanding of safety issues and safe operation of all equipment and facilities is required.

This position reports to the Director of Operations and has responsibility for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the production team. Barrel Brothers is a growing company with expanded opportunities for exceptional candidates.
